In The Tomb Of The Ancient Goddess
by Sarah Wagner

Serene faces on the stone walls,
smooth as if born there not carved.
A hundred visions of the Goddess,
perpetually watching over ruin.
Granite eyes damp with tears
unseen for centuries, as frescoes bleed
mineral pigments into shell basins,
pooling in the condensation
of long centuries. Congealing rainbows.
The blood of a dead faith.
